Abstract

The EU Energy Efficiency Directive specifies a reduction of 20% in the energy consumption of European industrial companies by 2020. However, if current developments continue, only half of this will be achieved. For this reason, what are known as "Best Available Techniques", which lead to a reduction in energy consumption and C02 emissions, are more necessary than ever. One such technique is the technical insulation of industrial equipment, which can be applied in all regions, industrial sectors, technical plants and processes. This is the reason why the Technical Textiles Division of Fren-zelit Werke GmbH, Bad Bemeck/Germany, has become a member of the EiiF Foundation.
