Direct sampling of carrier signal with dedicated Digital Signal Processor is today widely used as a method for bioimpedance measurement. Due to limits in sampling rates that general DSP can provide, and due to the fact that DSPs are not fully synchronous, it is difficult to guarantee synchronization between sampling and generated carrier. By replacing DSP with FPGA it is possible, not only to make inherently synchronous system, but also to create flexible platform for product development.
