The article discusses research led by criminologist Noemie Bouhana on a computer model of the processes underlying radicalization and subsequent terrorist attacks. The scope of the study include the identification of the flaws in law enforcement techniques or targets vulnerable to terrorism and identification of individuals who might become terrorists. Bouhana suggests the importance of having a better understanding of radicalization to improve efforts to counteract it.
