Genetic control of hippocampal neurogenesis

Abstract

Adult neurogenesis in the hippocampus is under complex genetic control. A recent comparative study of two inbred mouse strains using quantitative trait locus analysis has revealed that cell survival is most highly correlated with neurogenesis and identified candidate genes for further investigation. © 2006 BioMed Central Ltd.
