Abstract

In this paper, an overview of existing MAC scheduling algorithms is briefly presented. Then considerations concerning QoS of wireless communication are discussed. In order to improve the QoS of wireless communication, we proposed a new QoS-based algorithm for wireless access and scheduling in centralized network where all traffics are controlled by the base station. The algorithm uses TDMA in the radio air interface, but it can also be adapted to other access methods, such as CDMA. Finally, the simulation is performed to show the QoS guarantee with the new algorithm. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
