The aim of this study is to explore the practice of teaching for creativity in cultivating creativity among young children. The conceptual framework of this study is based on Slavin’s (1995) model of effective teaching. This case study involves a classroom observation and an interview of a preschool teacher from a selected Islamic kindergarten who has more than twenty years of teaching experience. Framework analysis was used to analyse the data. Findings from this study indicate that creativity can be nurtured and enhanced through effective teaching practices. The four elements of effective teaching model put forward by Slavin (1995) which are quality of instruction, appropriate levels of instruction, incentive, and time, contributes to the to the generation of creativity among children during the process of teaching and learning. Abstrak Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka amalan pengajaran kreativiti bagi memupuk perkembangan kreativiti kanak-kanak. Kerangka konseptual kajian ini adalah berasaskan model pengajaran berkesan Slavin (1995). Kajian ini merupakan satu kajian kes yang melibatkan kaedah pemerhatian dan temu bual terhadap seorang guru prasekolah di sebuah tadika Islam yang berpengalaman mengajar lebih dari 20 tahun. Analisis kerangka digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa kreativiti boleh dipupuk dan ditingkatkan melalui amalan pengajaran yang berkesan. Empat elemen model pengajaran yang dikemukakan oleh Slavin (1995), iaitu kualiti pengajaran, tahap pengajaran yang bersesuaian, insentif dan masa, menyumbang kepada penjanaan kreativiti kanak-kanak semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran
