Abstract

Four new glycosides of stilbene trimer, termed foeniculosides I, II, III and IV, were isolated from Foeniculi Fructus (fruit of Foeniculum vulgare Miller) along with two known stilbene trimers, miyabenol C and cis-miyabenol C. The structures of foeniculosides I, II, III and IV were characterized as 11α-0-β-D-glucopyranoside, 13b-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, 11a,13b-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, 11a,13b,13c-tri-O-β-D-glucopyranoside of cis-miyabenol C, respectively, on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data. © 1995, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
