Abstract

The island nation of Taiwan is perfectly suited to design and develop light electric vehicles (LEV) for use in urban areas. In this chapter, a fuzzy-control-based battery charger is proposed. The proposed charger takes the temperature and state-of-charge (SOC) information into account and adjusts the charging current accordingly. According to the experimental results, the performance of the proposed charger can be improved. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
