Abstract

We are in an interim period when what were once justifiably labeled mobile phones are evolving into something that is hard to describe in one or two words. Yet, while it may be difficult to know what to call them, it is possible to understand what they can do and it is possible to outline how they will impact the world of governance, ADR, and ODR. This chapter will explore how and why wireless, intelligent and ever present digital devices may contribute to disputes, how systems will need to be designed with attention directed at preventing disputes, and how these devices can achieve a role in responding to disputes.
