Abstract

Presents several discourses of nature that described a variety of different environmental conditions that are both possible and acceptable at Whitetop Mountain, located within the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and the Jefferson National Forest of southwest Virginia. Description of the mountain; Details on ecotourism and outdoor recreation development; Discourse on romanticism and the ideal of wild nature; Conclusion.
