Gives an overview of a project to develop a computer-networked environment which assists designers around the world to work collaboratively. The collaborative environment described makes use of high-bandwidth international networks and is based on the concept of global concurrent engineering (GCE), which enables collaborative work between design teams across time zones and countries. The approach followed in this project is to analyse the process of product design and subsequently develop a working scenario to handle both the interactive and non-interactive activities for global design teams
