Abstract

This paper aims to re-investigate the Guyton’s model of cardiovascular dynamics system under the intravenous injection of normal saline solutions, sodium bicarbonate and glucose. A model-based design involving the dynamics of mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), cardiac output (CO) is created for the investigation. This model is loosely based on Guyton’s extended model of circulation. The simulation results are compared with practical data and they show some differences with the real results. A few modifications have been made to improve the model.
