This paper presents an overview of the low-cost, open source small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flight research facility at the University of Minnesota. A de-tailed description of the facility, its components, and its capabilities is presented, as well as applications of the UAV platforms to research, education, and collaboration. Flight results from controls research is presented, followed by a brief summary of current research and future directions.
