Abstract

This paper exposes some ideas how blind people can get better access to the structure of chemical formulas. The first chapters outline the problems of blind people, who work in chemical areas. A further part of this paper discusses the state of the art in access to chemistry. Starting form this level of information ideas on a new approach will be shown how a blind user can navigate through chemical formulas. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
