Drug photosensitivity is an abnormal skin reaction to light, usually ultraviolet (UV) light, in individuals exposed to a drug, who tolerate the same amount of light exposure in the abscence of the culprit drug. Drug photosensitivity can present under a wide spectrum of acute or delayed clinical patterns, which are important to recognize and distinguish from idiopathic photodermatoses, in order to remove the offending drug and/or take the adequate measures to reduce this adverse effect.
