Abstract

The rise in pellet consumption has resulted in a wider variety of materials for pellet manufacture. Thus, pellet industry has started looking for alternative products in relation to wood biomass, such as wastes from agricultural activities, and related industries, along with the combination thereof, obtaining a broad range of these products. The results of the experiment showed significant differences between the analyzed biomass fuels burned under different operating conditions in a laboratory reactor with a model circulating bed. These differences are mainly associated with problematic phenomena during combustion, including sintering of ashes.
