Abstract

The Greifswalder Bodden, Wismar-Bucht and Salzhaff have an open connectionto the Baltic Sea in common. Loads originating from the shore-sidecan thus be transported to the adjacent Baltic basins more quickly.The shorter residence times reduce the possibility of self-purificationof these waters. Loads and disturbances in these ecosystems havean immediate effect on the Baltic Sea.
