The following are discussed: (a) forms of soil potassium, (b) inorganic and organic colloids important in potassium dynamics, (c) techniques for measuring potassium dynamics, (d) equations and models to describe potassium dynamics in soils and clay minerals, (e) effect of temperature on K dynamics, (f) dynamics between solution and exchangeable phases of potassium, (g) kinetics of nonexchangeable and mineral potassium release, and (h) use of kinetics for determining thermodynamics of potassium exchange in soils.
