Abstract

The majority of software authored for the mobile platforms are GUI-based applications. With the advent of multi-core processors for the mobile platforms, these interactive applications need to employ sophisticated programming constructs for parallelism-concurrency, in order to leverage the potential of these platforms. An OpenMP-like, easy to use programming construct, can be an ideal way to add productivity. However, such as environment needs to be adapted to object-oriented needs and should be designed with an awareness of the interactive applications. Also, OpenMP does not provide a binding that target these platforms. This paper presents a compiler-runtime system for Android that presents OpenMP-like directives and GUI-aware enhancements. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
