Abstract

Traffic management is the major problem and challenge these days especially in metropolitan cities. The congestion of vehicles at the traffic signal junction can lead to delay in movement of emergency vehicles, viz., ambulance, etc., a person struggling for life, not planned properly, congestion lead to loss of life. The project proposes a solution wherein the drones at each signal junction monitor the emergency vehicles movement and clear the path such that there are no other vehicles in the way during emergency vehicle movement. Emergency vehicle selects the shortest path to destination, sends signals to all the drones in the designated path using Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). The drones at signal junction takes over control from central traffic control system and gives back to the control system once the emergency vehicle attains seamless signal. The next drone at next signal junction is ready for the operation and continues till the emergency vehicle reaches destination.
