Abstract

The problem of the stability of gas bubbles in a sound field has been investigated using a model for the motion of a nearly spherical bubble in a slightly viscous liquid. The radial motion amplitude and the pressure amplitude thresholds for the instability for the spherical shape have been obtained by the theory of parametric resonance.
