Abstract

The article profiles economist Carolyn Tanner of New South Wales. Tanner's commitment to the agricultural sector has developed during her early years spent on a family farm. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. She has worked as an economist in the region's Department of Agriculture and served president of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society Inc. She was appointed by the Commonwealth Government to a major review of quarantine policies and procedures.
