Abstract

The present study was developed with the objective to identify and analyze the main factors that influence the process of knowledge management in a parastatal institution of professional education located in the state of Minas Gerais. A descriptive research was developed with a quantitative approach, based on a case study, whose sample was composed of 1,413 employees of the institution object of the study. A factorial model was developed and composed by the constructs 'strategy and communication', ‘policies and people management practices' and 'work processes', whose total explanation of the phenomenon in question was 70,344%. The importance of knowledge management in the process of organizational strategic planning.is highlighted among the main results achieved. In the same sense, it is important to understand the relationship that is structured between organizational strategy, policies and people management practices and working processes as a relevant variable to an efficient and effective knowledge management. In aggregate terms, the understanding, applicability and management of the triad here discussed allow the company to become more competitive and adaptable in the face of the constant changes in the market in which it operates.
