Abstract

The importance of multidisciplinary care is illustrated by this case study of a woman with stage 4 chronic kidney disease who became pregnant. Her case highlights the complex interaction between disciplines and the patient's psychosocial needs. Developing trust, compromise, and collaboration was equally as important as having adequate urea reduction rates and extracellular volume stability for the successful outcome of this pregnancy and birth.
