Abstract

Results in Table 1 for strain Y70 are withdrawn. All tests of the strain, both from our own collection and from isolates of the E.coli Genetic Stock Center, yield an McrA+/RgIA+ phenotype. Our tests were done on multiple subclones of a single isolate, which may represent a spontaneous loss of the prophage bearing the mcrA gene. We thank Jörg Alber (Johann-Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main) for calling this to our attention. © 1995 Oxford University Press.
