The purpose of this research is to develop a Removable Electric Drive System (REDS) running on a public road without changing the wheelchair. When a wheelchair user goes out alone, the existing manual wheelchair and electric wheelchair use different optimal wheelchairs depending on the distance and road conditions. For this reason, a drive system is attached to a manual wheelchair, and apparatuses that serve as both a manual wheelchair and an electric wheelchair have been developed. However, when traveling a long distance in a short time, it is necessary to have a device capable of running public roads changing public roads. In this research, we will develop a towing machine based on the target speed and the inclination angle, assuming to travel on the public road. As a result of running verification by prototype, we confirmed that it is possible to run at the target speed.
