Abstract

Cloud computing is a network-based computing model; it provides support for the upper cloud application environment by building a cloud computing infrastructure. The combination of GIS and cloud computing can provide new prospects for the development of information storage, processing and its application for the GIS. This paper presents a GIS application model based on cloud computing. The model which based on cloud computing, data storage and transparent user services uses GIS infrastructure and service facilities as the service support platform. It provides users with a stable, efficient and reliable service. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
