Abstract

The essence of PD (peritoneal dialysis) is the exchange of substances between the peritoneal dialysis solution inserted into the peritoneal cavity. The exchange takes place by transport through the peritoneum. PD requires a multidisciplinary approach: a nephrologist, nurses, a surgeon, a dietitian, a social worker, and a pharmacologist, with the patient's connection to the transplant center.
