Abstract

In order to understand the situation in which Slovakia found itself at the time of the outbreak of the global financial crisis, we must realise that we could only start talking about the introduction of both plural democracy principles and a market economy after the regime change in November 1989, while the independent Slovak economic policy only started to be conducted from 1 January 1993, i.e. after the separation of Czechoslovakia. © 2011 Gabler Verlag | Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, Wiesbaden.
