Abstract

The paper analyzes the regulation of the quality and safety of food based on game theory. The study shows that the situation of food quality and safety remains grim in China, which is mainly due to lack of control and supervision. It is necessary to strength the punishment on manufacturing and selling inferior food behavior, however, it is more important to increase the accountability of the government and enhance the punishment on malpractice of the supervisor. The supervisor should play a proactive role in food regulation, in order to radically reduce the behavior of manufacturing and selling inferior food, and to protect people’s lives and improve their health.
