Abstract

Este artigo busca analisar as diferentes imagens que foram criadas sobre os índios em Minas Gerais demonstrando que, na maioria das vezes, determinados grupamentos indígenas foram associados às feras. Assim, todas as medidas repressivas contra suas aldeias eram justificadas, inclusive, as Guerras Justas. O artigo analisa também alguns documentos sobre a escravidão indígena na região até pelo menos, o século XIX.This article searches to analyses the different images form created about the Indians in Minas Gerais, demonstrating that, in most times, determined aboriginal groupings were seen like wild animals. Thus, all the repressive measures taken against its villages had been justified, also, the "Fair Wars"... The article also analyses some documents about aboriginal slavery in that region until at least, century XIX.
