Abstract

The United States Constitution: One Document, Many Choices is designed to provide an understanding of America's foundational document both by explaining its origins in Western political thought and by describing the institutions it created. The book compares these institutions to possible alternatives. In doing so, the author demonstrates that the institutions within the federal government, as well the division of powers between the federal and state governments, exist to protect liberty.
