Abstract

The case study on the Reformed Fathers’ Convent in Francavilla Angitola intends to give a justification to a structure that was transformed by time into dismantled elements but can become an important source of income for the territory from a tourism point of view. The project has a potential to encourage and support local initiatives of “widespread investment” by private subjects that aim at the production, enhancement and promotion of zibibbo wine through the recovery of real estate assets in a neglect or underutilized state. In line with the context analysis, the project objective is the creation of the “Zibìb - Territorial Wine Cellar” focused on the production and promotion of local productions, in synergy between public and private subjects; this is able to enhance, organize and qualify the tourist offer in order to strengthen the attractiveness and the cultural use of the area.
