Abstract

Schizophrenia adversely impacts employment. Rates of work are often disappointingly low, despite the fact that employment is a valued recovery goal. Vocational rehabilitation offers beneficial services that help people with schizophrenia find and keep meaningful employment. This chapter describes vocational rehabilitation programs for people with schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses aimed at helping them engage in services that improve their work prospects and reach their employment goals.
