Abstract

Seen for a long time as two separate fields, ethnoveterinary and Western medicine are now increasingly viewed as two parts of the same framework. However, Western researchers still often consider ethnoveterinary practices only in differential terms with respect to Western medicine, thus not recognizing many important peculiarities of the former, which was once also owned by the latter. A rebalancing is therefore needed, with particular attention on practical outputs and profitable combination of the two systems.
