Abstract

European legislation sets air quality standards for the protection of human health and obligates member states to implement Air Quality Plans when those standards are exceeded. Atmospheric emissions reduction measures are developed, under the referred plans, to attain a better air quality. Air quality modeling is a useful tool to assess the efficiency and impact of the designed mitigation measures.
