Abstract

Hot strip mills have progressed in scale, speed and performance with the progress of the machinery and electric industries and the growth of demand. This trend will continue in the future. As hot strip mills have high productivity, even a small cost reduction in their operation has a large economic effect. This means the possibility that the mills will always be receptive of new technology. Failures to introduce one new technology after another for constant innovation will directly affect the company's profit-earning capacity.
