As social movement studies focus mainly on “new, post-materialist” actors, the analysis of social movements for or against forced migrants’ rights has rarely been addressed. Social movements on migrants’ rights have been instead addressed in citizenship studies, often with a normative concern. In this context, this collection certainly contributes to a dialogue between social movement studies and citizenship studies, pointing at some poten- tial innovations in both. In this afterword, I want to highlight four such contributions that point at contextual opportunities and constraints as well as internal characteristics of the mobilizations.
