Abstract

As the important pattern of international industry transference at present, global value chain has the fundamental influence on the global economy at micro-foundation level. Shanghai has been considered as the forerunner of the eastern and the Yangtze River Delta regional industrial upgrading and transformation, in the process of integration into global value chain. Meanwhile, its industrial development gradually changes from the manufacturing industry which is in the bottom end of value chain to the high-end segment gathering. In this paper, we used multivariate linear regression model to demonstrate the positive connection between the degree of integration into global value chain and the industry structure in Shanghai Putuo District. Base on this research, we suggest that the top-end service industry and the headquarter economy should be the development priority of Putuo District.
