Abstract

A model for unresolved, small-scale turbulent motions has been developed and implemented in the PPM gas dynamics code. The motivation for the model, the use of very large-scale simulation data in determining the model formulae and parameters, and validation tests of the model in the PPM code are described. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
