We discuss the numerical solution of the equation of radiation transfer in an astrophysical context. Rather than try to review this complex subject, we will be principally concerned with including radiation transfer effects in numerical ``model'' calculations. We will not be trying to present an exact mathematical theory. Instead, emphasis will be on practical considerations with regard to storage and time requirements, stability and convergence properties and numerical accuracy.
