Abstract

As predicted 2012 in CHIPS 2020, the Nanometer Roadmap ended in 2016. After the termination of the ITRS Working Group, new programs receive attention like the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS), Rebooting Computing, and S3S. Altogether, these make up a fundamental review with the common note of energy efficiency and artificial intelligence. Beyond CMOS, Quantum Computing receives critical-size attention (Chaps. 26 and 27). EUV lithography made it into the market in 2018, and it will continue as a strategy for selected structures and companies (Chap. 5).
