Tumor involvement of the vitreous can be seen in association with a number of benign and malignant conditions. When vitreous involvement is the primary presenting clinical finding, the diagnosis can be challenging. Even when a neoplastic vitreous infiltrate is considered, the interpretation of vitreous samples can be challenging for the pathologist. Frequently, these difficulties lead to a delay in diagnosis and subsequent management.
