Abstract

This book describes the composition and characteristics of petroleums and natural gases and gives details of analytical methods, including the separation of crude oils, and the characterization of the various fractions by modern instrumental methods. Phase diagrams are used to represent the physical properties of petroleums, condensates, and natural gases, starting from the P-T and P-V relationships of the multicomponent two-phase liquid-gas system. The whole range of hydrocarbon mixtures, from undersaturated petroleum to dry gas, are discussed, and the classification of these mixtures and oil-field waters is outlined.R.A.H.
