Abstract

In 2007, RFIDs are not only a challenge for the fields of computer science and economics, but also for law. This paper develops a framework for RFID legislation and RFID lobbyism. With the coordinates "globality, verticality, ubiquity and technicity", the establishment of scenarios (RTAMP, RTAMA, EPC, AGG) and the exemplary categorization of pioneer legislature initiatives in the USA, the discussion about RFID law will be focused and qualified. The opinion presented in this article is that traditional privacy law is not sufficient to meet the challenges of RFID (Bag Paradigm). © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
