Abstract

This paper aims to study the determination of both binary mixtures including simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of Pyridoxine hydrochloride (PYR) and Phenylephrine hydrochloride (PHE) by application of the H-Point standard addition method. This method is based on the difference in two wavelengths in a combined mixture. The spectroscopic method of H-Point Standard Addition (HPSAM) including the ΔA as an analytical signal from data at two previously selected wavelengths, and related with analyte (PYR) concentration when unknown in a mixture, depending on the maximum wavelength (λ max) to the other compound, Phenylephrine (PHE) as analyte. The work summarizes measuring the absorbances of the mixture at (291nm) and(309.5 nm). The linear ranges of calibration graphs were established for (0.5- 20µg/mL) and (0.5-20 µg/mL) for pyridoxine hydrochloride and phenylephrine hydrochloride respectively. The correlation coefficient (R2) was found to be (0.9943) and (0.9986) at (309.5 nm) and (291 nm) for Pyridoxine hydrochloride and Phenylephrine hydrochloride respectively. This method gave us sensitive, frugal, accurate, and cheap consequences. The suggested method has wide linear ranges and low LOD.
