Abstract

Various efficient computational optimization techniques have been developed during last few decades but quest for a new and better one still continues. In this article, a modified version of Mean Particle Swarm Optimization (MPSO) called Exponential Cumulative Distribution mean PSO (ECDMPSO) has been proposed for finding the global or near to global optimal solution of the optimization problem. The objective of this article is to make an effort to remove the premature stagnation of the SPSO and to extend the approach of Mean PSO. The approach has been verified through several benchmark functions as well as mathematical models of some constrained, fractional, multimodal problems.
