Abstract

The use of rubber balloons in skin expansion was first implemented by Neumann in 1957, during temporooccipital area expansion for ear reconstruction. The tissue expanders developed by Radovan 20 years later have been widely used for the past 29 years [15, 20]. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
