Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a sleep-related movement disorder. Pregnancy can potentiate RLS as well as worsen RLS in patients who have experienced it before. The diagnosis is primarily clinical and treatment of RLS in the pregnant patient needs to be tailored towards the risks and safety profile in the partum and breastfeeding period.
