Abstract

The 4th industrial revolution with cyber physical systems (CPS) entering automation and production processes, so called Industry 4.0 (I40), forces universities to establish new educational models. To fulfill the upcoming demands of the industry, there has to be a permanent transfer of knowledge between university and industry and use of digital media in the learning/training process, called Smart Study. The paper gives an overview on the merging of vocational and higher education in Germany to a Smart Study and shows some examples for blended learning in this study.
